So apparently when Lizzie’s dad came yesterday to help move Chancey, he accidentally drove across part of the grass on the edge of the cul-de-sac. The cul-de-sac is TOWN property, and does not belong to any of the people who live on my street. The neighbor who lives right next door is a complete and total DICKHEAD and thinks that he fucking owns it. He mows it, and maintains it, yes, but he does NOT FUCKING OWN IT. So he told Liz’s dad off and told him to move the trailer. I didn’t hear it, but I’m guessing it was not very politely asked either.

And then the neighbor felt the audacity to leave a letter in our mailbox today. Not a phone call, not even stopping in to talk to us. No, he is a fucking coward and left a fucking LETTER in the mailbox.

Just so you know, I’m sorry you lost your pet. We BURIED BRENDA’S FATHER yesterday afternoon. Why your man felt the need to drive on maintained grass after a week of rain is beyond my understanding. All I did was shout to have him move. I work hard maintaining that. How would they like me to do the same to them? We have been neighbors for nearly 10 years and the only words you’ve spoken to me were swears from your driveway. As a gay woman you should know that we are probably your most liberal and tolerant neighbors. But you are too angry to FIND OUT.

Okay, fucking dickhead, the occasion that you are referencing where I “shouted swears at you from [my] driveway” is referring to the time when your big fucking dog had been following my elderly grandparents’ car into our garage and jumping all over them as they got out. It wasn’t an isolated incident, it happened multiple times, and when my Mom returned your dog to you and let you know what happened (so maybe you could, oh, I don’t know, OBEY THE FUCKING LEASH LAWS???), you got pissed. If he jumped on MY grandparents, in OUR garage, and my grandfather had fallen, it would have been more than a broken hip (which would have been bad enough.) He was a fucking dialysis patient and if he had fallen on the arm that had his fistula, he would have bled out and been dead before we could have even called 911. So my Mom returned your dog to you, explained the situation, and you got in her face in OUR driveway and screamed swears at she and I, and accused her of making it up. (At which point my grandfather came hobbling out of the house with his cane to see what the fuck was going on, and your dog ran right by and jumped on him RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FUCKING EYES!) So yes, my Mom and I did curse back at you. Because you were verbally attacking us, IN OUR OWN FUCKING DRIVEWAY.

Yup, that’s the only time I have spoken to you, because it was obviously a good testament to your (lack of) character. Why would I care to speak to you again after that? And why do I give a flying FUCK if you are the “most liberal and tolerant neighbors” we have? What, do you want a fucking cookie?

So, good sir, kindly go fuck off. And don’t fucking talk to me, ever again, in writing, in person, or otherwise.

This is a horse at one of the places I work. I believe the owner got him two months ago, and he’s called George.
He’s a full standardbred, with a tattoo that seems to end in 0140, and the beginning letter is faded beyond recognition. His show name is unknown.
By the way he’s moving I’m pretty sure he’s a trotter (not a pacer, which is a shame because I love pacers). The dark spots are actually just scrapes, so he’s a solid light gray. I’m not sure how old he is either.
So if anyone knows anything about him, I’d love to hear about him. He’s a sweet gelding, just won’t stand still enough to take photos :)

Do you know about how old he is? That will help to track him down because you can narrow down what the first digit is.

Sadly I don’t do a whole lot with him, and no one knows really how old he is where he’s at. I’ve felt with another SB so I know the deal with the tattoo letters but not his :/

That’s weird, because when I search “?0140” in the USTA website, and it only returns 13 results, but none of them are grey or roan. (My grey STB is registered as roan because when he was a yearling it looked like he would stay roan. Whoops.)

I know what you mean, I searched him also. The first of the four numbers is kind of faded also, but even with ??140 as a search it pulls up only a couple blacks also. Idk, I’m going to ask the vet next time I see him.

You should totally ask. I love trying to track horses down, and now he has me intrigued!

Thank you… It was horrible, and sad, but it was absolutely the right decision. We never could have made her comfortable again, and she got all the love in the world while we had her. She had the blessing of a gentle and painless death, and far more dignity than slaughter. Lizzie and I were both extremely lucky to have her in our lives.

One of my kiddos has all sorts of rainbow gear for her horse. Rainbow halter, leadrope, blanket, etc. She is a super cutie, and I’m close with her Mom, who is also another instructor. So I made her a rainbow bracelet out of the leftover thread from making me and Molly new ones :)

On Tuesday we had to make the very difficult decision to put Chancey to sleep. Her chronic laminitis came back with a vengeance Her x-rays are some of the worst I’ve ever seen, and her coffin bone is beginning to come through the sole of her hoof. No amount of money or therapy could ever make her comfortable again. So we decided to give her a few days so that everyone could say their goodbyes. I’ve got her on a ton of bute but she is comfortable. The vet is coming out tomorrow morning. Lizzie and I are both (obviously) heartbroken, but I can’t imagine how hard it will be for them to say goodbye to each other… :(
